“And we know in all things that God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” -Romans 8:28 When I was 14 I went through confirmation like everyone else. I chose the verse above to be my life verse. At the time, I chose it because it sort of applied to my life and I liked the way it sounded. Little did I know two short years later, it would be so clear in my life why God led me to that specific verse. Today at Day Camp, I had the chance to go and speak to the older kids for bible study. I was hesitant and a little worried that I wouldn’t have the right words or that I was not capable of sharing my walk of faith. I went and spoke about how I had trouble transitioning from private middle school to public high school. The kids sat there with no response for a second when one girl said that she has one more year and then is going to high school. She shared with me her fears and talked about how she was scared to lose friends. I told her that God led me through it and put me on the right path with the right friends. It was such a special moment to be able to share my faith and have someone understand my struggles. Although we are halfway across the world, our faith and our struggles are universal. But God always leads us through it. I love day camp for many reasons but one of them being that it always strengthens my faith. That’s why I think God has called me to this place and why my life verse applies so well. Even if it was only for that one girl, I think I helped her. So far this has been an amazing experience. For those of you sitting at home, if you are hesitant to come to Poland, come. Take the jump and come to Poland next year. It will change your life and God will hold your hand the whole way.
