Day Camp 2016: Tuesday

Katie Kramer
“Nie bój się. Fear Not.” This was the first thing I learned to say in Polish and it came from our first reading here, Isaiah 43:28 assures you God knows your name. “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” Wow this resonated with me. Prior to being in Poland I had a lot of anxiety about this trip. I asked myself several times “why are you doing this” “you don’t like to travel and Poland is halfway around the world” “you don’t speak Polish”. But something inside of me wanted to be a part of this. I didn’t want to just see the pictures on Facebook, I wanted to be in them! I wanted to help these children with English. So here I am in Poland! God knows each and everyone of us here at camp. He has a plan for each and everyone of us. So why should I worry? Part of God’s plan for myself was to come to day camp. This is my first time at day camp, but I have a feeling it is not my last. The Lord is with us at day camp and we are experiencing so many things. It is Tuesday our second day at camp and I am surrounded by so many blessings. Here at camp I am working with Group 1 ages 5-7 and I am absolutely blown away by the intelligence in this group. This morning one of my students was asked “how are you”. The student replied “happy”. This answer really hit me. Happiness here is contagious. We are so happy to be gathered in the God’s name. We are so happy that each and everyone of us is growing not only spiritually but together as one big family. We have no reason to not be happy!! We are blessed with Joy, and it is visible here at camp. Thanks to be to God.
