Here we are, it is finally the first day of Day Camp! What a blessing it is to be here. After long days of traveling, the American team is so excited to be here. Yesterday we spent the day preparing our classrooms, meeting our host families, and spending time with the Polish counselors. We have only been here one day and I already feel the blessings and presence of Jesus here in Jastrzębie. It is simply a miracle how easy it seems for people from two different countries, who speak two different languages to become friends so quickly. It is my 4th year here at day camp, the last time I was here was 3 years ago, and I am still blown away by the love the American team feels the first day we are here and the rest of the week. I cannot wait to see what God will do through day camp this year. I just taught my first English lesson of the day and I am overwhelmed by the kids willingness to learn and participate. It has been a long time waiting to be reunited with my Polish friends, preparing lessons, and planning games and crafts. As the Lord rejoices in the fellowship of his people this week, we rejoice in the blessings He has given us.
Zephaniah 3:17 „The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
What a wonderful God we have, no matter what goes wrong or what mistakes we make this week, we know that he is still rejoicing over us. Yesterday, I was at my host families house and the father of the household was showing us his garden. It was absolutely beautiful, there were daisies, sunflower, and flowers of every kind growing. He looked at me and said ‘’pick one”. I could not choose, they were all so beautiful. He bent over and picked out a large red flower for me to put in a vase in my room. I looked at the flower, it was so delicate and different from all the rest. As I looked at the flower thought to myself. Just as the my host families father chose this flower, God has chosen us to be here this week. He has called the American counselors, the Polish counselors, the kids, the kitchen ladies, the parents, and everyone who is a part of day camp. We are all a part of His plan, how special is that? There is a reason He has brought each one of us here. I can’t wait to see His plan unfold this week. What a blessing it is to be in His presence this week as we teach English and His word.
