We just finished Wednesday, Day Three of Day Camp. Day Three has been the best day yet, as we truly jump into new and old relationships. Everyone is getting along great, tonight we had dinner with the Polish counselors, a great time to truly connect with our brothers and sisters in Christ from Poland. The kids at Day Camp are truly comfortable with the counselors, both Polish and American. Today during breaks between English lessons I probably learned, or at least tried to, just as much Polish as I taught English. The kids are excited about English lessons so they can learn how to communicate with all the Americans and we Americans are trying to learn as much Polish to understand what these adorable kids want to tell us. During a break today a young kid would tell me Polish words as we passed a volleyball back and forth- I can now say little, big, and hot. I know many of the other kids are doing the same with the other Americans. Everyone at Day Camp is excited to be there, excited to continue building great relationships, and excited to spread the joy and love of the spirit. The Golden Verse for today was: “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law”. How fitting, as today, and all throughout the week we have seen God work in wonderful and surprising ways to bring together people in strong relationships despite often not understanding more than a couple words.
I can not wait for tomorrow, another day to interact with the cutest kids in Poland. Kids who are excited to come and learn English, but more importantly are excited to interact with twelve Americans and learn about Jesus Christ.
