Ready, Set, Here Comes Day Camp 2013!

What a great day we enjoyed with our Polish partners in mission! The weather was perfect, the food was abundant, and the relationships grow stronger by the minute!

We started our day with a beautiful church service followed by the first of many meals for the day. The cooks at Jesus Church really know how to impress their guests! The afternoon was spent renewing friendships and making new ones as we prepared our ourselves and our classrooms for the week ahead. It is truly amazing to see so many people…both young and old, Polish and American, rested and jet-lagged…work together for the common goal of spreading Jesus’ love! If you were to look in from the outside I imagine it would look like they see each other every day, not just once a year or even for the first time for some! God’s presence can definitely be felt in Jastrzebie!

But all of the praying, t-shirt making, 5-K running, curriculum planning, leader’s training, team meetings, and craft supply packing (and packing and repacking) have brought us to the BIG day! Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for! Our purpose for coming to Day Camp is to teach English lessons to the campers, but our MISSION is to “go and make disciples of all nations…” and we will do this through the relationships that we form with our students! Tomorrow we will meet our beautiful students face to face and God will lead us on and take care of the rest!!

As I go to bed in a country far away from my own home and family, I am feeling truly blessed by this opportunity to serve an awesome God! HE will do extraordinary things through 12 ordinary Americans in a beautiful country called Poland!
