Sunday started as usual – with service at 9.30. This time however it was a service led by a youth band. And it was a special service as we had to say goodbye to all the American counselors. It was not easy though. There were a lot of tears yet during the service when pastor thanked for all the effort and heart put in preparing and leading this special week with kids.
After the service, even though everyone was waiting for the Day Camp video to be played, kids just run to hug and thank their American and Polish teachers for the whole week spent together. It took some time until finally everyone sat down and we could play the video.
After saying goodbye to all the kids, we had our last delicious lunch in the church, and after that, American team together with 11 Polish counselors went to visit the Auschwitz Museum in Oświęcim and then to Cracow.
As the flight was scheduled for Tuesday morning, the team had the whole Monday to go sightseeing in Cracow. After the week full of work everyone needed a break, therefore after visiting Wawel Castle many people just went back to the main square in Cracow to enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the beautiful restaurants’ outside ‘gardens’ (as they are called in Polish).
On a very early Tuesday morning the American team said goodbye to all the Polish counselors (there was a lot of tears again, but also a lot of promises of seeing each other in the future) and they set off to the airport.
